Travelling with Dogs: The Ultimate List!
Heading on a staycation with your dog? Whether you’re travelling with a new pup in tow, or maybe you’ve just forgotten what it’s like to travel with a dog in tow- we’ve put together a list of travel essentials for when you’re venturing out with your pooch.
Always #1 on the list- poo bags!
When packing for an adventure sometimes it’s easy to forget even the most essential of items, so always pack an extra packet of poo bags wherever you go. We stock everything from scented poo bags, extra large poo bags and eco-friendly poo bags so you can stay stocked up when nature calls for your pet pooch!
#2 Stay Hydrated!
No matter how long you’re travelling for, it’s important for both you and your dog to stay hydrated. For longer car journeys and backpack trips, these awesome long paws water bottles are a fantastic addition to your travel kit to keep things spill-free and easy to use! The unique ‘lick & flow’ water bottles are leak resistant and made from stainless steel, making them hygienic, free from harmful chemicals, and environmentally friendly.
#3 Car Safety
Remember, the highway code states that all animals must be suitably restrained when travelling in vehicles to ensure their safety. Invest in a quality car-safe harness or crate to keep your dog comfortable and safe wherever your adventures take you.
#4 Drying Off
Beach? Muddy puddles? Rain? Wherever you go, either the British weather or nature’s elements will no doubt mean you end up with a damp (or soaking) dog! The Henry Wag dog towels are easy to fold and feature advanced microfibre technology that easily removes dirt and locks it away. It absorbs more water and dries more quickly than regular towels too, so you don’t need to deal with a soggy dog and soggy towel after all your fun.
#5 Treats
Treats are the all-around ultimate travel essential. Long walks mean burning extra calories, so tasty treats can help keep them full when you’re out and about. The new sights, smells and sounds can also be a little overwhelming for your pooch, so a familiar favourite treat or two can help comfort them. Always have a bag of dog teats, or an ‘on-the-go’ bar on hand for when your dog fancies something special.
So there’s our list, what’s on yours? You can find all your travel essentials online or in-store today.
