Fleas and ticks can cause real problems for your dog, so it’s important to ensure they have regular treatment as a preventative measure. As well as a wide range of flea treatments for dogs; we also stock home sprays and powders which can help keep your home flea-free for longer and help stop the spread. We stock regular treatments such as spot-ons, collars and tablets as well as shampoos and sprays to keep fleas at bay.

 

Some flea treatments also work as tick treatments for dogs, so you can prevent and treat both in one swoop. We would always advise to give your dog regular treatments to keep them healthy and happy.

 

New puppy? Puppy flea treatment needs to be more regular than adult dogs- so make sure you stock up!

 

How do I know if my dog has fleas?

Flea symptoms in dogs can include excessive scratching, hair loss or sore skin patches/redness on your dog. Both you and your dog may also have signs of flea bites.

 

How do I prevent fleas?

Fleas aren’t always entirely preventable, as they can be contracted both inside and outside of your home. We would always recommend keeping on top of your dog’s flea treatments as the main course of prevention, whichever treatment you use.

 

Your home cleaning routine can also help prevent flea infestations. Hoovering your soft furnishings regularly and emptying the hoover after is a top tip, as well as regularly disinfecting with a pet-friendly cleaner!

Do I have to give my dog a flea bath?

Whilst flea shampoos and sprays are a good option for when your dog has contracted fleas; we know it can be a tough job trying to bath your dog at the best of times. Our salons offer a flea bath and tick removal grooming service starting from just £12.00. You can call your local salon directly to book in and discuss options for your dog.

 

My current flea treatment isn’t strong enough, do you offer higher strength treatments?

You can order specialist flea care online, and our health specialist will give you a call to advise on the best course of treatment.

 

Important: always de-worm your dog after they have suffered a flea infestation. Fleas can carry tapeworm which can in turn affect your dog.
