Whether it’s rewards for training, tricks or just because, here at Pets & Friends we know that your dog deserves the best when it comes to dog treats. That’s why we stock a wide variety of dog treats including chews, crunchy biscuits, dental sticks, and natural dog treats which can complement their regular daily diet.

We also stock a range of pate and paste type treats which can be used in slow feeder toys such as lickimats and KONG toys, so your dog can work for their treats and keep their minds stimulated as they feed. Shop the full range online today.

Should I give my dog treats every day?

This depends on your dog’s dietary requirements and their health status. Treats like daily dental chews and low-calorie training treats can be fed as part of your dog’s daily feeding regime as they are naturally low in fat and are only given at certain times of the day.

Natural dog treats such as chicken feet rabbits ears can also be fed in line with your dog’s diet, as they contain no artificial additives, plus the natural chewing action helps stimulate your dog and burn calories.

Does my dog need a daily dental chew?

If you don’t get the opportunity to brush your dog’s teeth on a daily basis; then feeding them a daily dental chew can help with their oral health. Chewing a dental chew will help them combat plaque and tartar between regular teeth cleaning treatments. We would recommend introducing a daily dental chew to your dog from a young age if you cannot brush their teeth daily, so it becomes part of their routine.

Should I use treats for training?

Positive reinforcement with treat based training can be a great way to help your puppy or dog learn. From simple commands, socialisation and recall, your dog can be treated when they do well, which will encourage them to continue their good work!
